Podcast: Surviving without the big guy

The Huskies are making the most of a tough situation as they tackle the early Big East slate.

UConn men’s basketball started Big East play with a surprising loss to Seton Hall and a concerning injury to starting center Donovan Clingan. Since that setback, however, the Huskies have won three in a row, beating St. John’s and DePaul at home and grabbing a come-from-behind victory at Butler on Friday night.

In this episode, Aman, Patrick, and Dan discuss life without Clingan and how UConn is adjusting. That includes the smaller lineup, Samson Johnson starting, raising the pace, and more guard-reliant play, with many different guys stepping up — shoutout to Hassan Diarra and Stephon Castle.

We also discussed Cam Spencer’s golf handicap, the Hinkle Fieldhouse Experience, Rick Pitino’s carnival barking, the competitive landscape around the Big East… and, for some reason, Pokemon.
