Rapid Recap: UConn stuffs Seton Hall in a locker

The win clinches an outright league title and the first undefeated run at home since 2006.

The No. 3 UConn Huskies stifled Seton Hall in the first half and then shot lights out in the second as they won their final home game of the season in dominant fashion, 91-61.

The game started with three lead changes in the first few minutes but UConn (26-3, 16-2) pulled ahead for good by the middle of the first half, as it has done so many times before.

Dan Hurley’s squad held a 15-point lead at halftime behind tremendous performances from Stephon Castle, Donovan Clingan, and Tristen Newton, as the latter two finished with double-doubles and Castle finished with a team-high 21 points (9-12 FG).

With the win, the Huskies won the Big East regular season outright for the first time since 2002 or 1999, depending on your rubric, and wrapped up their home slate undefeated for the first time since the 2005-’06 season.

Next up, the Huskies hit the road for a two-game set to wrap up the season, visiting No. 5 Marquette on Wednesday and Providence on Saturday. The Marquette game will be televised on FS1 at 8:30 p.m. from Fiserv Forum.
